Fused corundum brick for glass melting furnace
Fused corundum brick for glass melting furnace
The fused white corundum brick is α-AL2O3, which belongs to the trigonal crystal system. It is obtained by melting industrial alumina at high temperature in an electric arc furnace, cooling and crystallization into ingots, and then crushing, selecting, processing and screening. It is the stable one among the many variants of alumina. It has high melting point (2030), high density (3.99~4.0g/cm3), compact structure, good thermal conductivity, small thermal expansion coefficient (86×10-7/) and uniform. It is an amphoteric oxide, often weakly alkaline or neutral at high temperatures, and has good chemical stability. Therefore, fused white corundum is a refractory material for investment casting. Fused white corundum material is rich in mineral resources and low in price, which is worthy of selection and promotion.
