Low oxygen content in molten cast iron melted by induction melting furnace
Low oxygen content in molten cast iron melted by induction melting furnace
As mentioned earlier, the oxygen content in cast iron smelted in an four de fusion par induction is generally low. If the oxygen content is reduced to below 0.001%, there will be few oxides and sulfur-oxygen complex compounds that can serve as foreign nuclei in the molten iron, and the molten iron will have a poor response ability to the inoculation treatment.
When it is confirmed that the oxygen content in the cast iron is too low, the oxygen content should be appropriately increased. The most convenient way is to use an inoculant containing oxygen and sulfur. This inoculant has already been supplied abroad. With the increasing number of cast iron enterprises smelting in induction melting furnaces in my country, it is believed that similar products will come out soon.
Mixing 20-30% of the cast iron chips in the charge can not only reduce the production cost, but also increase the oxygen content in the molten iron obtained by smelting, which is also a desirable oxygen increase measure.
