Definition of unshaped refractory
Unshaped refractory material: Unshaped refractory material is a mixture of refractory aggregates, powder, binder or other additives in a certain proportion, and can be used directly or mixed with appropriate liquids. In other words, the refractory is a new type of refractory without calcination, and its refractoriness is not less than 1580°C.
Powder: also known as fine powder, refers to one of the substrates in the structure of amorphous refractory materials with a particle size of less than 0.088mm, which acts as a connection to aggregates at high temperatures to obtain physical and mechanical properties and performance. The fine powder can fill the pores of the aggregate, impart or improve the processing performance and densification of the amorphous refractory material.
Aggregate: refers to granular materials with a particle size greater than 0.088mm. It is the main material in the structure of amorphous refractories and plays the role of skeleton. It determines the physical and mechanical properties and high-temperature properties of amorphous refractory materials, and is also an important basis for determining material properties and application scope.
Binder: refers to a material that bonds refractory aggregate and powder together and exhibits a certain strength. Binder is an important part of amorphous refractory materials and can be used for inorganic, organic and composite materials. The main varieties are cement, water glass, phosphoric acid, sol, resin, soft clay and some ultra-fine powders.
Additive: It is a material that can enhance the bonding function and improve the performance of the matrix phase. It is a kind of refractory aggregate, the basic material composed of refractory powder and binder, it is also called additive. Such as plasticizers, accelerators, retarders, burning aids, expansion agents, etc.
In addition, for the fine part of the powder, it is specified that the particle size is less than 5μm for fine powder, and less than 1μm for ultrafine powder.
