How are refractory bricks decarbonized?
Come sono mattoni refrattari decarbonized?
The decarburization mechanism of refractory bricks is as follows: after a certain degree of smelting, there is a certain liquid phase isolation layer between steel and refractory bricks. The reactants form a solid phase product layer on the surface of the refractory brick, and the constituent elements in the refractory brick diffuse through the layer into the molten steel. Some elements and oxides in molten steel, mainly FeO in the steel slag, pass through the reaction layer of refractory bricks to reach the reaction interface of the decarburization layer. The decarburization reaction occurs where the two meet, thus affecting the composition of molten steel.
