Characteristics of induction heating hardening:
1) The heating speed is fast, the transformation temperature is increased, the transformation temperature range is expanded, and the time required for transformation is shortened;
2) A very fine “cryptic martensite” structure can be obtained on the surface of the workpiece, so that the surface has a slightly higher hardness (2~3HRC) and lower brittleness than ordinary quenching, and has a higher fatigue strength
3) The workpiece is not easy to be oxidized and decarburized, and the deformation is small.
4) The depth of the hardened layer is easy to control, and the quenching operation is easy to realize mechanization and automation.
