The difference between an induction furnace and a cupola:
The difference between an induction furnace and a cupola:
1. The cupola is an important equipment for melting cast iron in casting production. The cast iron block is melted into molten iron and poured into a sand mold to be cooled and then unpacked to obtain castings. The cupola is a vertical cylindrical smelting furnace, which is divided into a front furnace and a rear furnace. The forehearth is further divided into a tap hole, a slag tap hole, the front hearth of the furnace cover and a bridge. The back furnace is divided into three parts, top furnace, waist furnace and hearth. The waist furnace is separated from the hot blast tube, closed after repairing the furnace, and sealed with mud. On the top furnace is a heat exchanger. It is mainly used for the production of iron castings and also used for steelmaking with converters. Because the furnace top opens upwards, it is called cupola.
2. Induction furnace is a power supply device that converts 50HZ power frequency alternating current into intermediate frequency (above 300HZ to 20K HZ). It converts three-phase power frequency alternating current into direct current after rectification, and then turns the direct current into an adjustable intermediate frequency current. The medium frequency alternating current flowing through the capacitor and the induction coil is supplied to produce high-density magnetic lines of force in the induction coil, and the metal material contained in the induction coil is cut, and a large eddy current is generated in the metal material.
