Method for preparing castable for electric furnace cover

Electric furnace is a heating furnace that converts the electric energy in the furnace into heat to heat the workpiece. The electric furnace can be divided into resistance furnace, induction furnace, electric arc furnace, plasma furnace, electron beam furnace and so on. Electric furnace covers generally use high-aluminum refractory materials. In the past, electric furnace covers were mostly built with refractory bricks. Nowadays, high-aluminum castables are mostly used for integral casting on-site or prefabricated off-site.

The castable for the furnace cover of the electric furnace is mainly made of corundum and super-grade alumina as refractory raw materials, added with other additives such as mullite, kyanite, etc., and prepared according to the formula ratio. After fully mixing, adding appropriate water can be used for construction. High-aluminum castables have many advantages, such as thermal shock resistance, corrosion resistance, erosion resistance, peeling resistance and slag resistance. It can adapt to the working environment of electric furnace covers.

When using an electric furnace cover, whether it is prefabricated or cast on site, high-aluminum castables can be used as raw materials for construction and processed into ultra-high power electric furnace roofs and refining furnace covers. Regardless of whether it is a round furnace cover or a triangle, the construction operation can be carried out according to the size and thickness of the electric furnace cover. Electric furnace covers cast with high-aluminum castables have many advantages, such as good integrity and convenient construction, and are currently the refractory products often used for electric furnace covers.
