Production technology and characteristics of PTFE raw material tape

Also known as sealing tape, leak-stop tape. It is a strip-shaped product without any additives made of polytetrafluoroethylene dispersed resin through paste extrusion and calendering. It is white, with smooth surface, uniform texture, excellent heat resistance, corrosion resistance, self-adhesiveness, good fit, and good airtightness. It can be widely used for sealing of threaded ports of pipelines such as pure oxygen, coal gas, strong oxidizer, strong corrosive medium and high temperature steam, and filling and sealing of pumps, valves, and equipment with complex shapes.

PTFE tape has many excellent properties. Such as low coefficient of friction, non-stick surface, wide temperature range -180℃-260℃, excellent aging resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, etc.

The expanded polytetrafluoroethylene raw material belt uses 100% polytetrafluoroethylene as the raw material, and it has a net-like expanded structure composed of fine long fibers and knots. The expanded polytetrafluoroethylene raw material belt has the characteristics of good toughness, high longitudinal strength, and easy deformation in the transverse direction. It is an ideal material for sealing on discs and threads. However, it cannot be used in situations where it is in contact with high-concentration oxygen or liquid oxygen. Expanded polytetrafluoroethylene raw material tape is mainly used for disc and threaded port sealing.
