Performance comparison between fused mullite and sintered mullite

Performance comparison between fused mullite and sintered mullite:

Compared with sintered mullite, the performance of fused mullite is better in high temperature mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. High-purity mullite blocks are light gray, ordinary mullite blocks are dark or black. This is due to the fact that in addition to the presence of metallic silicon and a small amount of iron in the frit, a small amount of SiO2 is rapidly cooled by the frit and the surface is fast Solidified and enclosed in the frit, the frit is colored. Sintered at a high temperature above 1480℃, high-purity mullite is white, while ordinary mullite is light yellow. Fused mullite is widely used in low-creep hot-blast stove bricks, hot metal ladle and fish tank bricks, high-temperature industrial furnace bricks, glass-lined bricks, high-temperature saggers, slabs and other refractory products.
