Sintered Mullite

Sintered Mullite

Mullite is a binary compound that exists stably under normal pressure in the Al2O3-SiO2 binary system. The chemical formula is 3Al2O3-2SiO2, and the theoretical composition is: Al2O3 71.8%, SiO2 28.2%. Compared with natural mullite*, the commonly used mullite is artificially synthesized, including sintered mullite and fused mullite.

Synthetic mullite is a high-quality refractory raw material. It has the characteristics of uniform expansion, excellent thermal shock stability, high load softening point, small high temperature creep value, high hardness, and good chemical corrosion resistance.

The production process and method of sintered mullite:

Sintered mullite is made of high-quality natural bauxite as raw material, and is sintered in a high-temperature rotary kiln above 1750℃ through a selection process and multi-level homogenization.

Performance characteristics and applications of sintered mullite:

Sintered mullite has the characteristics of high content, large bulk density, good thermal shock stability, small high temperature creep value and good chemical corrosion resistance, and its quality is stable. At the same time, sintered mullite is the production of various shapes and uncertainties. Ideal raw material for refractory materials, sanitary ware blanks, precision casting and other products.
