What are the differences between refractory bricks and red bricks?

1. Raw materials and production process

1. Refractory bricks

Refractory bricks are refractory materials made of refractory clay or other refractory raw materials, which are light yellow or brown. It is mainly used for building smelting furnaces and can withstand high temperatures of 1,580℃-1,770℃. Also called firebrick.

2. Red Brick

In the production of bricks, a large fire is generally used to burn the bricks inside and out, and then extinguish the fire to allow the kiln and bricks to cool down naturally. At this time, the air in the kiln is circulated and oxygen is sufficient, forming a good oxidizing atmosphere, so that the iron element in the bricks is oxidized into iron trioxide. Since iron trioxide is red, it will also appear red.
