GB size specifications of general refractory bricks

The external dimensions of refractory bricks during production are usually divided into two cases. The first is executed according to the GB size of the refractory brick and the second is: non-GB size. Non-GB sizes have ordinary special-shaped brick sizes, for example, the outer size is larger, and the shape does not change significantly. However, the special-shaped size is the case of large changes in the external size, and the trapezoidal prismatic round or the concave-convex surface with round holes are the special-shaped bricks. When producing, it is necessary to limit the production of molds because the production cost is higher than the GB size. .

General refractory bricks are divided into general standards and special-shaped specifications according to the specifications, dimensions and parameters of refractory bricks. According to different materials, general refractory bricks should meet the following conditions;

(1) No more than four measuring scales;

(2) The proportion of the external dimensions of the refractory bricks is within the range of 1:4;

(3) There are no concave corners, holes and grooves;

(4) The weight is 2-8 kg (clay brick) and 2–10 kg (high alumina brick) respectively.

For silica bricks, magnesia bricks and magnesia alumina bricks, general products need to meet the above (1), (2), (3), and the weight is different: the weight of the silica general-purpose brick is 2- 6 kg, the weight of magnesia brick and magnesia alumina brick is 4-10 kg.

The special-shaped refractory bricks are refractory brick products with different dimensions from the standard specifications:

(1) The ratio of external dimensions is within the range of 1:6;

(2) It has no more than two concave corners (including arc-shaped concave corners) or an acute angle of 50o to 75o, or no more than 4 grooves;

(3) The weight is 2-15 kg (clay brick) and 2-18 kg (high alumina brick) respectively.

For silica bricks, special-shaped refractory bricks should meet the following conditions;

(1) The overall size ratio is within the range of 1:5;

(2) It has not more than one concave angle, or an acute angle of 50℃ˉ75℃, or not more than 2 grooves (according to the total number);

(3) The weight is 2-12 kg.

For magnesia bricks and magnesia alumina bricks, all other magnesia bricks and magnesia alumina bricks that cannot be included in the definition of general refractory bricks are called special-shaped refractory bricks.
