How to check the small leaks and micro leaks of the vacuum furnace?
Small leaks and micro leaks in vacuum furnaces are more difficult to detect. The commonly used method is to use the ionization tube under high vacuum to be sensitive to certain gases to detect leaks, such as acetone or ethanol. Use a medical syringe to spray acetone or ethanol to suspicious places. When spraying to the leakage point, the pointer of the ionization gauge will swing significantly.
You must be patient with this method of leak detection, and you must wait until the indication of the ionization gauge is stable, that is, the pumping capacity of the vacuum unit and the leak rate are balanced, and then spray. Try to repeat it several times to confirm the missing points.
