How to protect the lining of the intermediate frequency furnace?

How to protect the lining of the intermediate frequency furnace?

1. If the furnace capacity ratio of the intermediate frequency furnace is too large, it will increase the cost, and if it is too small, splashing will occur and reduce the service life of the intermediate frequency furnace lining. Therefore, the optimal furnace capacity ratio should be maintained during the design.

2. The converter loading volume should be reasonable. In addition to the proper furnace volume ratio, the proper molten pool depth should also be ensured (must exceed the maximum penetration depth of the oxygen flow into the molten pool).

3. The manufacturer of the ramming material for the intermediate frequency furnace recommends to determine a scientific and reasonable oxygen supply system to ensure the speed of impurity removal, slagging speed, removal of gases and inclusions in the steel, and reasonable control of the end carbon and temperature.

4. On the premise that the molten steel casting effect is good, the lower the temperature control and the end temperature of the steelmaking process, the better.

5. The service life of the lining of the intermediate frequency furnace is affected by the quality of the raw materials used in the converter steelmaking, such as molten iron, scrap steel, slag-making materials, intermediate frequency charge, slag conditioning agents and fluxes.
