The difference between clay refractory bricks and refractory silica bricks in application

Clay bricks have good thermal shock stability and low price, but their high-temperature performance is not good. The long-term use temperature is not higher than 1300 degrees, and they are widely used in low-temperature parts of various kilns.

The soft temperature of silica brick is close to the melting point, and the high temperature strength is high. It can be used for a long time under high temperature (over 1400 degrees), but it has poor resistance to alkali corrosion, and has the worst thermal shock stability. Silica bricks are generally used in coke ovens and glass kilns.
