First, technical requirements

The production workpiece is a large-diameter eccentric gear. The gear consists of a ring gear and an eccentric body. The ring gear is composed of 45 steel. The production process is quenching and tempering of the tooth surface. The surface hardness of the part surface is 48HRC, and the hardened layer is 3-5mm to meet the contact strength, tooth root bending strength and fatigue resistance during gear meshing.

Secondly, the process parameters of induction hardening equipment

1. Heating temperature The original structure of the ring gear is a quenched and tempered structure. Due to the fast intermediate frequency induction heating, the heating temperature can be appropriately increased. The heating temperature of 45 steel is controlled at 850-880 °C.

2. Frequency 850℃ intermediate frequency current penetration depth calculation formula In the formula, d——penetration depth; μ——material permeability; ρ——material resistivity; ƒ——current frequency.

According to the test data, it can be seen that as the frequency decreases, the depth value increases accordingly. According to different hardness requirements, the frequency of the intermediate frequency current should generally be controlled below 8000Hz.

Quenching and cooling medium: 45 steel and other simple parts can directly use tap water, control the temperature of the quenching liquid to be 18-50 °C, and adopt the continuous quenching method, and the heating and cooling quenching are carried out continuously. The cooling spray device sprays the workpiece at a 45° angle.
