Some forgings require heat treatment after heating and forging. During heat   treatment, pay attention to reducing the way and number of parts placement. One is to hang vertically as much as possible. The position is between one-third and one-quarter of the full length, and the fourth is laying flat on the heat-resistant steel tooling. Improper placement is one of the reasons for deformation.

Secondly, the type of cooling and quenching medium in heat treatment, cooling performance, no selection or improper operation will all be related to the hardening deformation. The change of cooling performance can be adjusted by changing the viscosity, temperature, liquid surface pressure of the medium, using additives, stirring, etc. The higher the viscosity of the quenching oil and the higher the temperature, the smaller the elliptical deformation. In the resting state, the deformation is small.

In addition, pay attention to the temperature change power of quenching during heat treatment. The quenching temperature is oil-cooled to a temperature slightly higher than the Ms point, then quickly and maintained in the atmosphere to make the overall temperature of the part uniform, and then oil-cooled to make the martensitic transformation uniform. The irregularity of deformation is greatly improved.
