How many aspects are the advantages and disadvantages of induction heating quenching results?
Cooled parts should be cooled immediately after heating or after a certain pre-cooling time to complete quenching.
1) The advantages and disadvantages of the quenching results are shown in the following three aspects:
①The hardness value directly measured after cooling;
②The size of the internal stress in the parts;
③The depth, area and microstructure of the hardened layer.
2) The quenching result is determined by the following parameters:
① Cooling time;
②The temperature of quenching cooling medium (water, oil, polymer aqueous solution, etc.);
③The pressure (or flow) when the quenching cooling medium is sprayed out.
The longer the cooling time, the lower the temperature of the quenching cooling medium, the higher the injection pressure, the stronger the quenching, the higher the surface hardness of the part, the greater the quenching stress, and the greater the risk of crack formation.
In order to avoid the production of waste products, the process must be strictly followed, and the pre-cooling and cooling time must be adjusted in accordance with the specified process parameter range, and checked with a stopwatch.
