In order to fully reduce the fusion process and effectively remove impurities, it is necessary to add an appropriate amount of anthracite and iron powder to the raw materials. When alumina produces white corundum, because of the high purity of the raw materials, there is no need to use reduction methods to separate impurities. The alumina content of fused brown fused alumina is greater than 90%, and the alumina content of white fused alumina is greater than 98%. The performance of fused corundum is basically the same as that of sintered alumina, but some fused corundum has a higher apparent porosity.
