The equipment used for induction heating and quenching of the EQ491 engine camshaft is a horizontal quenching machine tool and a thyristor intermediate frequency device.

The horizontal quenching machine tool is mainly composed of a loading roller 1, a bracket 5, etc., in which the tailstock 9 and the headstock 10 are driven by the same long piston rod and move left and right along two parallel circular guides, and their function is to send the push rod 4 The workpieces are fed into and out of the sensor 3, and the bracket 5 transfers the heated workpiece to the top position of the drum 7. There are 4 pairs of centers symmetrically distributed on the drum. One pair of the tops against the workpiece drives the workpiece to rotate, and the drum rotates at the same time. 90°, send the workpiece into the quenching medium. When the second pair of tops in the waiting position bears down-after the heated workpiece, the roller rotates 90° again, the first pair of tops are released, the workpiece falls on the conveyor 6, and the conveyor lifts it out of the liquid surface and sends it to the next process .

The inductor used for heating is composed of 8 effective loops connected in parallel, and the effective loops are cooled by water.

A heat exchanger is installed on the side of the machine tool to reduce the temperature of the quenching medium. The quenching medium circulates between the quenching medium tank and the heat exchanger through the high-pressure pump, and the quenching medium cooled by the heat exchanger is sprayed out to the heated workpiece in the quenching medium tank at a pressure of 0.4 MPa.

The transfer of the workpiece in the machine tool is realized by the piston cylinder. All the actions of the quenching machine tool are controlled by the FX2-128MR PC. When the lamp is manually adjusted to the total zero position, the automatic cycle work starts.
