The main reason for the ignition of the induction melting furnace coil

The main reason for the ignition of the induction melting furnace coil

The main reason for the coil to spark: the insulation ability of the coil is poor. The insulating paint used on the surface of the intermediate frequency coil is usually a conventional insulating paint. Due to the harsh operating conditions of the electric furnace, the peeling and carbonization of the insulating paint was found to be serious on the spot, which may be caused by the following reasons:

a) At the end of the furnace campaign, the refractory material in the furnace becomes thinner, the heat radiated to the coil increases, and the ambient temperature of the coil becomes higher. Ordinary insulating paint does not have high temperature resistance and is easy to be carbonized.

b) When the electric furnace is tapping, the steel slag splashes on the coil of the induction furnace, and the insulating paint on the surface of the coil is directly destroyed.

c) The seepage of molten steel from the refractory material directly touches the surface of the coil and immediately destroys the insulating layer on the surface of the coil. And because the current insulating varnish has no high temperature resistance, it cannot protect the coil. The exuded high-temperature molten steel can easily burn the coil directly. The common deep scars on the coil also prove this.

d) The environment where the coil is located is highly corrosive, and ordinary insulating paint cannot effectively resist corrosion, and is easy to deteriorate and fall off and lose its insulating ability.
