Application Description of High Frequency Induction Heating Machine in Surface Quenching of Metal Workpieces

High-frequency induction heating machines are widely used in surface quenching of metal workpieces, such as quenching and hardening of the head of drill bits, quenching of tooth parts of gears, surface quenching heat treatment of automobile universal joints, crankshafts, fasteners, etc. . Now let’s briefly explain the basic operation method of surface quenching. When we put the metal workpiece in the inductor wound by the hollow copper tube of the high-frequency induction heating machine, after passing the high-frequency magnetic field alternating current, an induction heating current of the same frequency is rapidly formed on the surface of the workpiece. The surface of the part is heated rapidly, the surface of the workpiece can be heated by 800 to 1000 degrees in a few seconds, and the central part of the workpiece is still kept close to the indoor temperature, and then immediately spray water for cooling or immerse the workpiece in quenching oil to cool, so that the surface layer of the workpiece reaches desired quenching hardness.

For a long time, in the surface quenching process of metal workpieces, we still have more traditional and common methods, such as: flame heating surface quenching, electrical contact heating surface quenching, electrolyte heating surface quenching, laser heating surface quenching, electron beam heating surface quenching and many more. However, the high-frequency induction heating surface hardening method has advantages, because it is currently more rapid heating and heating than other methods, and it is immediately combined with cooling. The high-frequency induction heating machine can quickly bring the surface of the workpiece or steel to the quenching temperature, and the high-frequency heating machine cools quickly without waiting for the heat to reach the center, only the surface quenching hardness is martensite, and the center remains as Unquenched original plasticity, good toughness organization (or annealed, normalized and quenched and tempered organization).
