Industrial and decorative applications of mica board
According to mica board manufacturers, since the 1990s, with the rapid development of highways, radial tires have been widely used in automobile tires. Mica board has become the first choice for radial tires due to its excellent wear resistance and adhesion, but its Young’s modulus is small, resistance and thermal deformation are not obvious, which greatly shortens the service life of tires.
Radial tires are gradually replaced by steel wires and polyester fibers. Mica board manufacturers said that in the next few years, in order to make up for the defects of mica boards, major companies generally modify mica boards and develop new high-strength polyamide cords. Today, the strength of tire cords newly developed in Japan can reach 12cn/dtex. The company uses modified mica board, which has the characteristics of low calorific value, light weight and durability, as the skeleton material of radial tires.
Since the 1980s, BCF woven carpets have been favored by people for their rich indoor performance. In traditional BCF carpets, mica board accounts for 58% and polypropylene accounts for 42%}-8}. The BCF production process adopts a one-step method to develop a flexible FMS production system that can produce BCF in various colors. The post-processing adopts air deformation instead of mechanical deformation, and the mica board has a fast processing speed, which can form three-dimensional crimped high-loose yarns. By spinning spinnerets with different cross-sectional shapes, the hollowness of the fibers can be increased, and aromatic mica fiber with excellent properties such as coverage expansion, durability, pollution resistance, and easy cleaning can be obtained. Due to its high strength, light weight, and high temperature resistance, it is widely used in aircraft barrier nets, life rafts, parachutes, national defense military textiles and other fields, and even part of it is used in aerospace technology. Mica board manufacturers said that for civilian fibers, it also makes full use of the excellent toughness of nylon. After modification, the water absorption rate can be reduced and the dimensional stability can be improved. The service life of fishing nets is 3 to 5 times that of cotton nets. It can also be used for road protection, fence nets, luggage nets, container transportation safety nets, medical tubes, mesh elastic bandages, medical sutures, etc.
