The difference between high frequency and medium frequency quenching in high frequency quenching equipment

The difference between high frequency and medium frequency quenching in high frequency quenching equipment

(1) High-frequency quenching has a shallow hardened layer (1.5~2mm), high hardness, the workpiece is not easy to oxidize, has small deformation, good quenching quality and high production efficiency, and is suitable for parts that work under friction conditions, such as generally small gears, Shafts (materials used are 45# steel, 40Cr);

(2) The hardened layer of intermediate frequency quenching is deep (3~5mm), which is suitable for parts subjected to twisting and pressure loads, such as crankshafts, large gears, grinding machine spindles, etc. (the materials used are 45# steel, 40Cr, 9Mn2V and ductile iron) .

(3) High frequency induction heating 200~1000kHz 0.5~2.5 Small and medium modulus gears and shaft parts of medium and small size.

(4) Medium frequency induction heating 2500~8000Hz 2~10 Larger shafts and large and medium modulus gears.

According to the current frequency, induction heating surface quenching can be divided into: high frequency quenching 100-1000kHz. Intermediate frequency quenching 1-10kHz. Power frequency quenching 50Hz.

1. The hardness of the surface layer is 2-3HRC higher than that of ordinary quenching, and it has lower brittleness, fatigue strength, and impact toughness. Generally, the workpiece can be increased by 20-30%.

2. The deformation is small, and the depth of the quenching layer is easy to control.

3. Cheaper low hardenability steel can be used, the operation is easy to realize mechanization and automation, the productivity is high, the higher the current frequency, the thinner the hardenable layer.

(5) High frequency quenching equipment is generally 1-2mm, intermediate frequency quenching is generally 3-5mm, and power frequency quenching can reach >=10-15mm.

(6) High-frequency induction heating: the current frequency is 100-500 kHz (kHz), and the effective hardening depth is 0.5-2 mm (mm). It is mainly used for small and medium-sized parts that require a thin hardened layer, such as small Modular gears, small and medium shafts, etc.

(7) Intermediate frequency induction heating: the current frequency is 500 to 10000 Hz (Hz), and the effective hardening depth is 2 to 10 mm (mm). It is mainly used for parts that require a deep hardened layer, such as gears with medium modulus , Large module gears, shafts with larger diameters, etc.
