Why is the scroll compressor damaged?

1. Excessive moisture damage:

Trouble phenomenon: the surface of the mechanism may be copper-plated in the light, and rust in the heavier, the gap between the scroll disc and the rolling piston and the cylinder head may be rusted, and the copper-plating will reduce the gap and increase the friction.

Cause: The vacuum of the refrigeration system is not enough or the moisture content of the refrigerant exceeds the standard.

2. Excessive impurities are damaged

Failure performance: signs of irregular wear on the scroll surface.

Cause: The system installation process produces oxide scale or the system pipeline has more dust and dirt, and the system has insufficient oil return or insufficient lubrication to cause abnormal wear.

3. Damage due to lack of oil or insufficient lubrication:

Fault performance: air-conditioning noise, power-on and tripping, the surface of the mechanism parts are dry, and abnormal wear (lack of oil); the surface of the mechanism has a proper amount of oil but is abnormally worn.

Cause: Insufficient oil return in the system or high temperature of the compressor leads to low oil viscosity or excessive refrigerant volume leads to low oil viscosity.

4. The motor is damaged

Fault performance: The air conditioner is powered on and trips, the measured resistance value is abnormal (0 or infinity, etc.), and it is short-circuited to the ground. The coil is short-circuited and burned, or the white bar groove is melted, or burned by overheating.

Cause: Excessive impurities in the system will scratch the coil and cause a short circuit (mostly on the surface), or paint scratches during the coil manufacturing process will cause a short circuit (mostly on the non-surface), or overloaded use will cause the coil to burn out too quickly.

5. The cross slip ring is broken:

Trouble performance: The compressor is running but unable to establish a pressure difference, accompanied by a clattering sound or locked-rotor after running for a period of time. The cross slip ring was broken, and there were a lot of silver metal shavings and copper shavings inside.

Cause: The starting pressure is unbalanced, which usually occurs when the refrigerant is charged and operated immediately.

6. High exhaust temperature

Fault performance: The exhaust temperature of the compressor is too high within a short period of time after the compressor is turned on. When the compressor is disassembled, the surface of the scroll is slightly overheated due to the high temperature.

Causes: poor ventilation of the external machine, leakage or insufficient refrigerant, gas flow through the four-way valve, blockage of the system filter or electronic expansion valve.

7. Noise:

Undesirable noise produced by the compressor: Generally, it can be detected by the commodity inspection in the factory. The noise outside the factory may occur after the compressor is replaced. The cause is generally the noise caused by the flow welding during welding, such as: motor sweeping noise and scroll noise.

Insufficient control of impurities during equipment installation and insufficient lubrication after a period of operation can cause abnormal noise in the compressor. It is necessary to confirm the suction and oil return filters, and confirm and improve the oil quality and quantity.

 

8. Unable to establish pressure difference:

Trouble performance: The compressor is running but the pressure difference cannot be established.

Cause: Compressor U, V, W three-phase wiring error, which mostly occurs in compressor maintenance.
